Revision in Unity rebate for Plus! Visa Credit Card Rewards Programme (Effective from 1 January 2018)

Wavier of minimum spend requirement for cheers

From 1 September 2017, we will waive the minimum spend requirement of $5 for NTUC Plus! Visa or Plus! Visa cardholders to earn LinkPoints at Cheers outlets. LinkPoints earned from all Visa transaction spent in Cheers will be awarded at the next card account statement.

LInkPints Not awarded for selected organisations

From 1 October 2017, 0.3% LinkPoints rebate will not be awarded for transactions charged to your NTUC Plus! Visa or Plus! Visa Cards by organisations under these Visa merchant classification codes (MCC): Charity and Social Service Organisatiions (MCC 8398), Religious Organisations (MCC 8661), Cleaning, Maintenance and Janitorial Services (MCC 7349), Real Estate Agents and Managers - Rentals (MCC 6513).

LATE FEE REVISION

From 1 June 2017, the late payment charge for the Plus! Visa Credit Card will be revised from S$80 to S$100 while the late payment charge for the NTUC Plus! Visa Credit Card will be revised from S$60 to S$100.

ANNUAL FEE REVISION

From 1 January 2017, the annual fee for your Plus! Visa Credit Card (principal card only) will be revised to S$107, including GST. We will automatically waive the fee if you charge at least S$2,500 in Visa transactions per year to your Plus! Visa Credit Card.

REVISION OF INTEREST RATES FOR NTUC-OCBC STARTER ACCOUNT

From 3 January 2017, interest rates for NTUC-OCBC Starter Account will be revised to 0.1% p.a. for the first $50,000 and 0.15% p.a. for the next $450,000. Visit www.ocbc.com/ntuc for more details.

NO LINKPOINTS FOR TRANSITLINK GTM

From 1 February 2017, LinkPoints will not be issued for all Visa transactions made at TransitLink General Ticketing Machines on your NTUC Plus! Visa Credit / Debit Card or Plus! Visa Credit / Debit Card.

LATE PAYMENT CHARGE

With effect from 1 June 2016, the late payment charge for Plus! Visa Credit Card will be revised to S$80. Late payment charge for NTUC Plus! Visa Credit Card will remain at S$60. To ensure prompt payment by payment due date, you may wish to pay by interbank GIRO or via Internet Banking from your NTUC-OCBC Starter Account, your Plus! Savings Account, or your OCBC deposit account. 

NTUC PLUS! / PLUS! VISA CARDS BONUS LINKPOINTS REBATE PROGRAMME

From 1 May, the following revisions will take place:

  1. We will be revising the bonus LinkPoints Rebate structure for your Visa purchases within FairPrice supermarkets, FairPrice Finest, FairPrice Xtra, FairPrice Online, FairPrice Warehouse Club and NTUC Unity stores. Full details will be available in May 2016.
  2. The bonus LinkPoints Rebate for FairPrice Online will be revised from:
    • 6% (9 LinkPoints) to 4% (6 LinkPoints) for NTUC Plus! Visa Cards
    • 5% (7.5 LinkPoints) to 3% for Plus! Visa Cards (4.5 LinkPoints) for Plus! Visa Cards
  3. The bonus LinkPoints Rebate for Unity will be revised from 5% (7.5 LinkPoints) to 3% (4.5 LinkPoints).
  4. The bonus LinkPoints Rebate for recurring Visa transactions charged by Town Councils, Singapore Press Holdings as well as for Visa transaction at Singapore Power Customer Service Counters and EZ-Reload will cease.
  5. The bonus LinkPoints Rebate for recurring bill transactions with Singapore Telecommunications, StarHub and M1 will be revised from 1.33% (2 LinkPoints) to 1% (1.5 LinkPoints). 
  6. For recurring NTUC Membership fees, the LinkPoints Rebate will be revised from 1.67% (2.5 LinkPoints) to 1% (1.5 LinkPoints). 

OUT-OF-STORE LINKPOINTS*

From 1 May 2016, cardmembers will enjoy 1 LinkPoint for every $3 worth of Visa transaction instead of $2 worth of transaction (0.33 LinkPoint will be awarded for every $1 transacted). 

*defined as Visa transactions outside FairPrice supermarkets, FairPrice Finest, FairPrice Xtra, FairPrice Online, FairPrice Warehouse Club and NTUC Unity stores. 

Changes to LinkPoints rebate for Instalment Payment Plans

From 1 June 2015, all Instalment Payment Plans charged to your Plus Visa Credit Card or NTUC Plus Visa Credit Card will not enjoy LinkPoints rebates.

CHANGES TO BALANCE TRANSFER TERMS AND CONDITIONS

With effect from 1 September 2014, any outstanding Balance Transfer Amount will be treated in the same manner as a Cash Advance made through the use of the Card. Hence, the prevailing Cash Advance interest rate of 28.92% will apply to all the outstanding Balance Transfer Amount after the promotional tenure.

DISCONTINUATION OF FAIRPRICE PLUS! PERSONAL LOAN FOR NEW APPLICATIONS

With effect from 1 October 2010, new applications for FairPrice Plus Personal Loan will be discontinued.

NON-ISSUANCE OF LINKPOINTS

From 1 January 2017, LinkPoints will not be issued by OCBC for all Cash-On-Instalments on your OCBC Plus! Visa Credit Card or NTUC Plus! Visa Credit Card.

NON-ISSUANCE OF LINKPOINTS

From 31 August 2014, LinkPoints will not be issued by OCBC for every S$1000 balance in Plus! Savings Accounts for account holders on e-statements.

NON-ISSUANCE OF LINKPOINTS

From 30 May 2014, LinkPoints will not be issued by OCBC for bill payment made through OCBC Internet Banking.

UPDATE ON LINKPOINTS

With effect from 1 April 2014, LinkPoints will not be issued by OCBC for Visa transactions at NTUC Unity. However, LinkPoints issued by Link merchants continue to apply.

From 1 January 2015, the annual fee for your Plus! Visa Credit Card (principal card only) will be revised to S$80.00, including GST. From 1 March 2015, we will automatically waive the fee if you charge S$2,500 in Visa transactions per year, or more, to your Plus! Visa Credit Card.

From 1 January 2015, the annual fee for your Plus! Visa Debit Card will be revised to S$24.00. From 1 March 2015, we will automatically waive the fee if you charge S$1,200 in Visa transactions per year, or more, to your Plus! Visa Debit Card.

Revision of Prevailing Interest Rates on Credit Cards

With effect from 1 September 2014, if payment is not made in full by the payment due date on your OCBC Credit Card, interest charges will be calculated at 25.92% per annum (minimum S$2.50 per month) on a daily basis on the outstanding balance and all new purchases charged to your card account from the date of purchase(s).

Overseas ATM cash withdrawal

From 11 May 2012, we have deactivated the overseas ATM cash withdrawal feature on your OCBC cards. You will not be able to withdraw cash from overseas ATMs using your OCBC ATM, credit or debit card that is linked to your savings or current account. However, if you are planning a trip abroad and intend to withdraw cash from overseas ATMs, you may request to have your card(s) reactivated via the following methods:

  • SMS: ATM >Your NRIC or Passport Number< >Last 4 digits of your card< activate or deactivate to 72323 (applicable for local SMS only);
  • OCBC Online Banking
  • Call 1800 820 2020 (press 2) if you have a Plus! Phone Banking PIN; or
  • Download Plus! Visa Card Maintenance Form

Enhanced security measures for greater assurance

  • One-time password (OTP)

    To protect you from online fraud, OCBC will send you an OTP for extra security whenever you make online purchases.

  • Transaction alerts

    Be alerted via SMS upon your card’s first usage or when a transaction amount above the predefined limit is made to any of your OCBC credit or debit cards. The predefined limit is set to a default value of S$1,000 and the minimum predefined limit you can set is S$100. Please call OCBC at 1800 363 3333 to change your predefined limit.

  • Deactivation of magnetic stripe

    From 1 July 2012, the magnetic stripe on your credit or debit card will be deactivated for local transactions. Thereafter, all local transactions can only be made with the EMV chip on your card. The magnetic stripe on your credit or debit card will, however, continue to be activated for overseas transactions.
